Can Wolf Tactical handle a firearm purchased from another licensed dealer?
Yes. Contact us to coordinate the transfer, provide the selling dealer’s information, and prepare for pickup.
How much does a firearm transfer cost?
The first firearm costs $35, including the $5 background check. Each additional firearm in the same transaction costs $10.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Wolf Tactical operates by appointment only. Contact us before visiting.
How do I start a transfer?
Provide your first and last name, primary phone number, email address, the selling dealer’s email address, and your order number.
How does the selling dealer obtain your Federal Firearms License (FFL)?
Send us the dealer’s email address so we can provide our FFL. If the dealer emailed you an FFL request, forward the original email with your name and order number. Please do not send a screenshot.
What information should the seller include with my shipment?
Ask the seller to include your full name, phone number, and order information. Confirm that the seller has received payment, our FFL, and everything needed to ship your order.
Tracking shows my firearm was delivered. Can I pick it up?
Please wait until Wolf Tactical contacts you. Carrier delivery confirmation does not mean your firearm has been processed or is ready for pickup.
What documents should I bring?
- Valid government-issued photo ID showing your name, date of birth, and current residential address.
- Supplemental government-issued proof of address if your photo ID does not show your current residence.
- A dated, paid receipt or other purchase documentation.
- Your valid Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License, if applicable.
- Any additional residency or immigration documents required for your transfer.
What can I use as supplemental proof of address?
Examples may include vehicle registration, voter registration, or a government-issued tax document. Contact us before visiting to confirm your documents are suitable.
Can I use a utility bill or personal mail as proof of address?
Utility bills, personal mail, and commercial correspondence do not replace the required government-issued identification or supplemental documents.
Can someone else complete the transfer or pick up my firearm?
The actual purchaser must appear in person, present the required documents, and complete ATF Form 4473.
Is a background check required if I have a Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License?
Yes. A background check is still required. A qualifying license may exempt you from the applicable waiting period, but it does not waive the background check.
How long will the background check take?
Processing times vary. A pending result may delay pickup, and the firearm cannot be released until the background check is approved and all other applicable requirements are met.
Does a waiting period apply to my transfer?
A waiting period may apply unless a valid exemption is documented. Contact Wolf Tactical before visiting to confirm the requirements for your transfer.
When can my firearm be released?
Your firearm may be released after your background check is approved, any applicable waiting period is satisfied or a valid exemption is documented, all required paperwork is complete, and transfer fees are paid.
Do I need to be a Florida resident?
Florida residency is generally required for handgun and receiver transfers through a Florida dealer. Contact us with questions about documenting your residency.
Can an out-of-state resident transfer a rifle or shotgun?
A transfer may be possible when it meets applicable federal law and the laws of both states. Confirm eligibility with Wolf Tactical before arranging shipment.
What documents do active-duty military customers need?
Contact us before your visit to confirm the required identification, permanent-duty-station orders, and supporting residency documents
Can non-U.S. citizens arrange a transfer?
Documentation requirements depend on immigration status. Contact us before arranging your transfer so we can review the documents you need to bring.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash is preferred. We also accept Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, and most credit cards. Personal checks are not accepted.
What if I cannot pick up my firearm promptly?
If deployment, travel, or another commitment will delay pickup, contact us and provide your expected pickup date.
What should I do if my shipment is delayed?
Contact the selling dealer first to confirm shipping status and tracking information.
How can I avoid pickup delays?
Wait for our processing notification, schedule your appointment, confirm your identification and supporting documents are current, and bring your purchase documentation. The actual purchaser must attend, and any applicable waiting period must be satisfied.
